ChessFX — Privacy Policy

ChessFX does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything the extension does happens locally in your own browser.

What data we collect

None. ChessFX does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, browsing history, account information, or identifying information of any kind. We do not use trackers, advertising, or third-party analytics services.

What the extension stores

ChessFX saves your preferences — such as your selected theme pack and your settings (volume, and which effects are enabled) — using your browser's local extension storage. This information:

• Stays on your own device.
• Is never sent to us or to any server.
• Is used only to remember your choices between sessions.
• Can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

Permissions we request, and why

• Storage — to save your theme selection and settings locally.
• Access to chess.com pages — so the extension can apply your chosen visual theme and sound effects to the chess.com board. The extension only runs on chess.com and does not read, collect, or transmit anything from those pages.

Third parties

ChessFX does not share data with any third parties, because it does not collect any data to share. The extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chess.com.

Children's privacy

ChessFX does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, as it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in the future (for example, if new features are added), the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
